About

What Is OK to Board?

Flying to another country involves a number of formalities. Over recent years a sizeable share of travellers were found boarding flights to the UAE on fraudulent visas — so airlines and Dubai immigration introduced OK to Board.

It’s a confirmation, sent to your airline, that your visa has been verified against UAE immigration records. With it in place, your boarding pass is issued without questions at check-in.

“Introduced to weed out travellers on fake visas — every document is inspected and verified before a person is allowed to board.”
— Dubai immigration policy

Who needs it?

Passengers from specific countries, or anyone travelling on certain airlines to the UAE.

When is it required?

It must be confirmed before you travel to the UAE — typically 24–72 hours before you reach the airport.

Why is it important?

It ensures smooth travel and avoids denial of boarding due to visa or document issues at the gate.
