FAQ
Dubai Transit Visa Questions, Answered
Who needs one, 48 versus 96 hours, fees, documents and what airlines check at boarding.
It's a sensible precaution. The Guyanese passport is currently listed for arrival entry in the UAE, but those listings change, and airline staff at JFK or Toronto may still question it. A pre-arranged 48-hour transit visa lets you leave the airport during a long Dubai stop and covers you if the onward flight to Delhi, Hyderabad or Chennai is delayed. Our team can apply with your passport and both tickets.
For a single night, our 48-hour transit visa is usually enough, provided your onward flight leaves within that window. If you would like two or three days to see the city before continuing, pick the 96-hour transit visa instead. Both need a confirmed onward ticket and can't be extended once you land, so we suggest sorting it out with us as soon as the itinerary is final.
Two separate checks apply. The US has no airside transit, so a valid US visa is needed for the New York leg. In Dubai, staying in the transfer area on a through ticket generally needs no UAE document. We still recommend a pre-arranged transit visa if your Dubai layover is long or your tickets are separate, because check-in staff at JFK will look at every leg of the route.
Yes. If you choose a pre-arranged transit visa for the family, each traveller, babies included, gets their own approval. We file the children together with the parents so every approval matches the same booking. Have each child's passport scan and photo ready, plus the onward tickets. If the children travel with only one parent, carry a consent letter from the other, as airlines may ask for it at check-in.
