FAQ
Dubai Transit Visa Questions, Answered
Who needs one, 48 versus 96 hours, fees, documents and what airlines check at boarding.
If you stay airside on one through ticket, you generally need your passport, boarding passes and any visa your final destination requires, such as a Schengen visa. To leave the airport, an Indonesian passport needs a visa approved before you fly, and a 48-hour or 96-hour transit visa works well for a stopover. Apply with us before departure from Soekarno-Hatta and carry the approval with your onward ticket.
The rules are national, so an Indonesian passport is treated the same in Abu Dhabi as in Dubai. Airside connections on one ticket generally need no UAE visa, but stepping outside the airport does. A transit visa we arrange is valid for entry through Zayed International in Abu Dhabi as well. Airlines run their own stopover offers, but we recommend having your visa approved before you fly so check-in staff have nothing to question.
It can. Since 25 June 2026, Indonesian passport holders with a valid residence permit from listed countries, including Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, the US, the UK, Canada and EU states, can get a visa on arrival, but not those travelling from home without such a permit. Even if you qualify, we recommend a pre-arranged transit visa, because the rule is new and airline staff may not apply it consistently yet.
Yes. On a single ticket to Jeddah or Madinah you can normally stay in the transit area and board your onward flight with your Saudi Umrah visa. Problems start when a flight is delayed or a group is booked on separate tickets and has to recheck bags. For those cases we recommend a pre-arranged 48-hour transit visa for each traveller, so nobody is stuck airside during a long rebooking.
You can start, but we need a confirmed onward booking to complete a transit visa, because the visa is tied to your connection. Most travellers from Bali or Jakarta hold their flights first, then apply with us straight away. Send a clear passport scan, a recent photo and your itinerary, and our team checks that everything matches before submission, which avoids the most common cause of delays.
