FAQ
Dubai Transit Visa Questions, Answered
Who needs one, 48 versus 96 hours, fees, documents and what airlines check at boarding.
Most travellers from Vaduz fly out of Zurich, a drive or train ride away. Your Liechtenstein passport, not the Swiss departure airport, decides the UAE rules. For an airside connection on one ticket, the boarding pass is enough. If you want to leave the airport in Dubai, apply with us for a pre-arranged transit visa so check-in in Zurich runs smoothly.
It is a less common passport, and staff occasionally take a moment to confirm its status. Carrying a transit visa issued by us removes any doubt if you plan to leave the airport. For airside connections, staff check your passport and onward boarding pass as with any other traveller. Allow a little extra time at check-in.
Apply online with us. You need a clear passport scan, a recent photo and your onward booking. We check the documents before submitting and send the approval by email. Keep it on your phone and as a printout for check-in. Applying once flights are confirmed, rather than at the last minute, leaves time to fix any issue.
Each passport is assessed on its own, though Swiss and Austrian passports are treated much like Liechtenstein ones by the UAE. Residents with other nationalities may face different rules, including needing a visa approved before flying. Tell us which passport you will travel on, and our team will confirm the transit visa that fits your trip.
