FAQ
Dubai Transit Visa Questions, Answered
Who needs one, 48 versus 96 hours, fees, documents and what airlines check at boarding.
Apply with us online from Singapore: choose the 48-hour transit option, upload a clear passport scan and photo, and add your confirmed onward booking. Singapore passports are listed for entry on arrival, but we still recommend a pre-arranged transit e-visa for a stopover. Rules can change without notice, and a delayed connection or a query at the Changi check-in desk is far easier to handle with an approval already in your inbox.
Pick by how long you will actually be on the ground. The 48-hour transit visa suits an overnight stop or a single day in the city, while the 96-hour option leaves room for a proper break before your onward flight. Neither is generally extendable, so if your plans might stretch, choose the longer one. Our team can look at your itinerary and suggest the right fit, and we arrange it as a pre-arranged visa before you fly.
Yes, if both flights are on one ticket and your bags are checked through, you can usually stay in the transit area without clearing immigration. The catch is disruption: if your onward flight is cancelled or moved to the next day, you may need to leave the airport for a hotel. A pre-arranged transit visa from us covers that scenario, so you are not relying on decisions at a counter during a missed connection.
On separate tickets your bags usually are not checked through, so you collect them, clear immigration and check in again landside. That means entering the UAE, even for a few hours. Singapore passports are currently listed for entry on arrival, yet we recommend a pre-arranged 48-hour transit visa for self-transfers: if the first flight runs late and the second leaves without you, you already hold a valid visa while you rebook.
Expect them to check your passport validity, your onward or return booking and, for a stopover, how you plan to enter the UAE. Airlines rely on the Timatic database, and staff can refuse boarding if anything looks unclear. Showing a pre-arranged transit visa from us removes the guesswork at the desk. We also suggest at least six months of passport validity and a printed copy of your onward ticket.
