FAQ
Dubai Transit Visa Questions, Answered
Who needs one, 48 versus 96 hours, fees, documents and what airlines check at boarding.
Not if you stay airside. A Turkish passport holder connecting at Abu Dhabi on one ticket can usually wait in the transfer area without a UAE visa. That changes once you have to pass immigration: an overnight rebooking, a missed connection or a separate onward ticket all mean entering the country, and a Turkish passport needs a visa issued before you fly for that. We arrange 48-hour and 96-hour transit visas so the option is ready.
It depends on whether your two flights are joined. On a single booking with a short connection, you normally stay inside Sharjah airport and no UAE visa is involved. Many Sharjah trips are bought as separate legs, though, and then you collect your bag, clear immigration and check in again. For a Turkish passport that entry needs a visa approved before departure. Send us both itineraries and our team will tell you which transit visa fits.
Yes. Turkish citizens apply with us online, with no consulate visit. You upload a clear passport scan and a photo, add your confirmed onward booking, and our team handles the submission. The 48-hour visa suits a single night between flights; if your layover runs longer, choose the 96-hour option instead. The approved visa arrives by email, and we suggest carrying a printed copy for check-in.
In most cases, yes. When the two flights are on separate tickets, the first airline will not move your bag or check you onto the next flight, so you usually enter the UAE, collect your luggage and check in again. With a Turkish passport, that entry needs an approved visa before you board in Istanbul. A 48-hour transit visa from us is normally enough for a same-day or overnight self-transfer.
OK to Board is an airline-side confirmation that some carriers ask for on certain routes; it is not a visa in itself. For a Turkish passport, check-in staff mainly look at your onward ticket and, if you will leave the airport, an issued UAE visa in your name. If your carrier tells you it needs OK to Board, contact our team with your booking reference and we will advise on the next step.
