FAQ
Dubai Transit Visa Questions, Answered
Who needs one, 48 versus 96 hours, fees, documents and what airlines check at boarding.
Apply with us online once your flights are confirmed. Choose the 96-hour transit visa, upload a clear passport scan, a recent photo and your onward ticket, and our team checks everything before submission. A Guinea-Bissau passport needs this visa approved before departure to leave the airport in the UAE. The 96-hour option suits a short break of a few days between flights.
Yes, generally, if both flights are on one ticket and your bags are checked through. You stay in the transit area and need the visa for your final destination, but no UAE visa. If your onward flight is cancelled or moved to the next day, you will not be able to leave the airport without one, so we recommend a transit visa approved before you fly for long gaps.
A self-transfer means collecting your bags, clearing UAE immigration and checking in again, which a Guinea-Bissau passport cannot do without a visa approved before travel. Apply with us for a 48-hour transit visa that matches your dates. Leave several hours between flights, because the second airline does not have to wait or rebook you if the first flight is late.
It can. The airline will rebook you, but without a UAE visa you usually wait in the transit area, sometimes overnight, and cannot use a hotel outside the airport. Holding a transit visa arranged with us before departure means you can leave, rest and return for the new flight. We suggest it for any long, late or separate-ticket connection.
