Qualifications for this visa

The sponsorship qualifications for couples changed a few months back. In order to sponsor a visa for your partner, you need to meet some requirements. 

• As by the Dubai government, income is the main criterion that is required if you want to "sponsor a visa for your partner". Men can sponsor visas for their partners as well as women can also sponsor visas for their partners.  
• Men should have a minimum salary of 4000AED (if they are not getting any accommodation facility) or 3000AED ( if they are getting accommodation facility) in order to sponsor a visa for their partner. 
• If a wife wants to sponsor their husband’s visa, her salary should be at least 10,000AED but if she wants to sponsor her children's visa, her salary should be at least 4000AED. If she is earning 3000AED with accommodations provided by the company, it is also acceptable. 
• If a person is unable to meet the salary criteria but finds it important to sponsor his/her partner’s visa then he/she can file a petition to the committee. It makes take a few days but it is highly recommended to check that all documents that you are submitting are correct and accurate.

Residence visa documents required

1. You need to fill out an application form and submit it at the Amer Typing Center. The application forms for a couple of sponsor visas are submitted only at the Amer typing centre. You cannot fill it out online. 
2. You need to submit a salary certificate. It should be accurate and in Arabic. 
3. As you are asking for permission through which your partner will enter Dubai and you are the sponsor, you need to submit your marriage certificate. Before submitting the marriage certificate, make sure that it is attested by MOFA (ministry of foreign affairs). 
4. A Tenancy contract will be submitted with all documents and it should be attested by Ejari. 
5. Your latest DEWA bill will also be attached with documents. 
6. Sponsor’s University diploma certificate.
7. Photocopy of passport is required. Both sponsor and dependent have to submit their passport photocopy. 
8. Passport size photograph of both sponsor and dependent is required. Photos should be recently clicked and keep at least 3 photographs as it is recommended to use the same photo on every application. The photo should be colourful and should be clearly visible.

• Many people call it a husband’s visa or wife’s visa while some call it a spouse’s visa but in actual fact, it's all wrong. This visa is called a residence visa.
